Dear Rainier Rugby Parents,

As many of you already know, the rugby club relies heavily on fundraising efforts and your involvement in these initiatives to ensure we can fulfill our financial obligations. The first major initiative of this season will be a Dinner and Auction. This event will be held at the Eagles Hall in Buckley on Friday, November 5th, 2010. In addition to the catered dinner, the evening will consist of an auction & silent auction tables with themed baskets and other items donated by player's families and supporters of the club. Additionally we will have a dessert auction and 50/50 drawing. Credit cards will be accepted for any auction purchases.

Your first responsibility is to attempt to SELL SIX EVENT TICKETS to friends and family and have them attend this event. Each player will receive six numbered tickets that they will need to be accountable for until we collect monies raised from sold tickets. At that time any unsold tickets will need to be returned. The tickets cost $25 each. Should you require additional tickets to sell these can be made available to you. Please note that this year we will be offering a meal choice of Prime Rib or Chicken Cordon Bleu. On the ticket portion which you retain please have the buyer check which of these selections they would like.

The second thing we are asking for help with is the donation of items for the Live or silent auction tables. For the live auction some suggestions are services from tradesman, vacation home or cabin stays,

For the silent auction we suggest themed baskets which can be created using creativity and ingenuity. We are not limiting auction items to baskets and would gladly accept other donations such as handmade goods perhaps a birdhouse or art item or services such as handyman, home decorating or cleaning services. The possibilities are endless! Some ideas for baskets include a Husky or Cougar basket, pampered chef or a car washing basket. Please make sure that this donation is not a used item unless classified as an antique.

At this time, what we need most is a commitment from parents and players to make an effort to sell tickets and donate an item or service for the auction tables. The deadline for ticket sales and collection of sales monies will be Sunday October 3rd. We will convene at 4pm at the Bonney Lake Windermere Real Estate office on October 3rd to conduct this collection. We have created template procurement letters which may assist you in obtaining a donation from a local business. These letters contain all the clubs 501 C3 tax exempt information.

These letters are available for your use on the website (www.rainierjuniorrugby.com) under "Fundraisers" in our new Auction section. Once you have procured an item or know what you would like to donate please return to the website where we have created an area on the website where you can log details pertaining to the item you will be donating and also review the comprehensive ongoing list of all the collected items. We are also soliciting donations specifically for the dessert auction which will require the acquisition of a professionally created, preparation or purchase of a dessert dish that can be auctioned off. All Auction items should be available by November 1st.

Thank you, parents for your efforts in helping to make our 2nd t Dinner and Auction a huge success. We appreciate your support of the Rainier Plateau Junior Rugby Club.
