To Whom It May Concern:

Rainier Plateau Junior Rugby (RPJR) is a volunteer not for profit initiative to create and establish an opportunity for boys aged 14-18 to participate in one of America's fastest growing youth sports. Rugby is valued as a sport for men and women, boys and girls in 120 countries worldwide. Locally the Washington Youth Rugby Association membership includes eight boys and six girls clubs spread geographically between Bellingham and Olympia. RPJR will fill a void by providing an opportunity for athletes from and not limited too Bonney Lake, Sumner, Buckley and Enumclaw to get involved in junior rugby.

Rugby builds teamwork, understanding, co-operation and respect for fellow athletes. It is because of, not despite, rugby's intensely physical and athletic characteristics that such camaraderie exists before and after matches. To help further the positive values rugby engenders all USA Rugby Certified coaches complete the multi sport Positive Coaching Alliance Certification Program (PCA). The mission statement of PCA is to create coaches who are "Double-Goal Coaches". Coaches who want to win but have a second, more important, goal of using sports to teach life lessons; and the principle of "honoring the game." This includes having respect for the rules of the game, opponents, officials, teammates and self.

As a club sport we receive no funding from school districts. In fact all of our team supplies, equipment costs, travel and referee fees will be paid for by player dues, fundraising and sponsors like you. Our parent club holds a 501(c) 3 non profit status so donations are tax deductible. Included in the team informational packet is a detailed list of materials and equipment which are potential sponsorship opportunities. This list reflects the major purchases which will be necessary to prepare and equip the team to play in next's spring's Pacific Northwest League Matches. We intend to show our thanks and appreciation for our sponsor's generosity by incorporating website adverts, corporate logos on equipment and team uniforms. Team banners will also be used on match days to help identify and recognize our local sponsors. Please review our club information and sponsorship opportunities which hopefully will inspire you to recognize the added value our club will provide for local youths.
